Red Sky in morning Vinces Warning

I should have taken heed of that red sky this morning, as this evening had bit of a disagreement with someone about them shouting/raising there voice at me, told them I did’nt like that and they as usual just turned the conversation around and turned into something else, tbh just think that was an excuse to say why they had a right to shout/raise there voice at me.

I feel quite stressed by this, but also happy as it was time I said something as it seems to be happening alot with this particular person, but I’ve always kept stumm and taken it meekly, but I just thought what the hell it can’t be any worse if I say something . . so I did and I do actually feel much better for it , here’s hoping I can continue to stand up for myself when it comes to this person.

When I got home told Mel about it and she thinks it’s a good thing as now this person might realise that hey people do have feelings and might realise they can’t continue to be like this with me, hey even if someone’s wrong or right there’s still no reason to raise their voice/shout at that person, so at the very least I got Mel backing me up and I got my dog Blue to cheer me up when I get home, Blue the best medicine when you’ve had a bad day :)

Red Sky this morning

The sky was certainly stunning this morning, it was a  red/pink across the whole of the visible horizon, not seen a horizon like that in ages, managed to get a couple of photo’s of it, but not to sure how they’ll turn out as took them through my car window, just have to wait and see.   They should be on Flickr later on today so have a look yourself and feel free to comment.

Anyway going to have to shoot now as am expected at one of our sites this morning to resolve some issues with connectivity between our 2 site’s, I’m hedging my bets that the Sonic wall at our Trafford Park sites losts its config settings, so hopefully just should be a case of re-importing the config file into the Sonic wall and restarting it, so for now I’ll say TTFN.

Bristol and back

Well we’ve just got back from a very enjoyable weekend in Bristol, staying at Jenn’s and Rich’s place, took us about 3-4hrs to get there on Friday, but it was well worth the journey.

After freshining up a bit and introducing Blue to Jenn and Rich we settled down to waiting the 2hrs till our pre-booked taxi arrived to take us to the Blue Mountain club where we were to enjoy the music provided by the promoters Empathy, though our evening was slightly marred by Blue being a very naughty grumpy dog and scaring the shits out of all of us when she suffered a bout of food aggression and went for Jenn’s little lady Raisin, poor Raisin was half scared to death I think, but thankfully no serious damage was done, though we decided it might be best to keep the 2 of them apart in case Blue got nasty again(something we’ve never experienced her do before).

Anyway after a calming down period and the arrival of the taxi me, Mel and Jenn headed to the club, Rich could’nt join us as he was feeling pretty miserable with a bout of stomach flu or worse, so he was elected doggy sitter for the night, though with Blue being grumpy we were a mite concerned we may come back to Blue licking at a leg bone.

What was the clube like then ?

Well if was easy enough to get into, we were some of the first to arrive and managed to wonder round the place before it got to full, quite a nice layout to the place as well, a fairly large room downstairs pumping up with a very large set of bass bins, and upstairs a smaller cosier room with a passage way leading to a large sort of veranda area that overlooked the Q outside, this doubled up as the smoking, chilling area, though at this time of the year it was most definately the chilled area, so coats were needed.

Atmosphere wise I’d say it was definately friendly and we got chatting to quite a few people all of the them nice, there was Alex the sound engineer who entrhalled us with his chit chat, the couple from Yorkshire who like us had come down for the night and Jenn’s friend Pete who was the most entertaining, though I must say he was extremely bolloxed at the time.

So after dancing the night away and generally enjoying ourselves we headed out into the cold December night to find our Taxi home (Jenn being the clever one had also pre-booked this), the journey back was over fairly quickly and all 4 of us arrived at Jenn’s where the evening just turned into a chilled night, eventually hit the sack around 7:30am with Blue thankfully not having eaten Rich we went to bed.

Saturday was just spent veging in front of the TV and then to bed again and today was spent eating the lovely grub that Jenn had got in and a long drive home.

And thats were we are now, just getting ready for work tomorrow.

Thxs Jenn, Rich and Raisin for a wonderful weekend.

Weekend in Blackpool

Well just spent a wet and windy weekend in Blackpool at the lovely Doric Hotel, all part of Mel’s work’s Christmas Party, not a bad place to stay either apart from the wild wind that was blowing along the front while we were there, kept both of us awake most of the weekend.

Anyway Friday night was spent re-acquainting myself with Mel’s fellow workers and consuming large amounts of Bulmers cider, both of which were enjoyable then it was off to bed as I didn’t arrive there till well past 9pm and tbh needed a good nights sleep.
Saturday we woke early and drove to Fleetwood to investigate the tat being sold at Fleetwood’s Indoor Marke, managed to spend well in excess of £60 quid on varied tat while there, this being a dog bed for Blue, a very natty fleece covered in doggy pictures for Ash and a rather expensive representation of the helmet worn by Russell Crowe in Gladiator, these have now been dished out to the one’s they were intended for.

After relaxing in the bar for a couple of hours we headed up to our room to make ourselves pretty for the evening party, where we again consumed large quantities of cider and plates of Christmas fare, had a bit of a boogie, attempted to smoke cigarettes outside the Doric in gale force winds and eventually retired to bed.

Sunday was just a case of getting up packing our bags and me heading home to ensure that John the dog/house sitter hadn’t been savaged by Blue and I’m thankful to say he hadn’t been, though how Blue will recover from spending a weekend in the company of John only time will tell (cheers for looking after her John).

I’ll no doubt be posting some piccies or a link to the Flickr account once I’ve posted up the pictures of the weekend, but for now I’ll just say good night and bid a fond farewell to Blackpool till the next time

The slow road to recovery

Seems the older you get the longer it takes to recover from a night on the tiles, but then again a night on the tiles with Ash, Amanda and Lisa tends to last more then a night.

Eventually made my way home from Jo’s house party at about 4am this morning and left the rest of them partying the morning away, in general the party was pretty neat, met some of Amanda’s other friends like Kev, Caroline, Verity, Paul, Martin, Sarah and Mike and not forgetting the hostess with the mostess Jo.

Will post some picture up of the night later all being well, just can’t be arsed at the moment.

So how have I spent the rest of the day ? just the usual things, took Blue round Sale Water Park for her weekend exercise and an all day breakfast at the Polar Bar and thats been about itreally, now I’m just going to head to bed and catch up on the much needed sleep.

House Party in Chorlton

Just been on the phone to Amanda and Ash and waggled an invite to a House Party, friend of Amanda’s from her days working at the bookies, no idea who the person is, but reckon I might give it a go and see what the crack is . .

Should be interesting to see Ash on his best behavior for a change . . though for how long that will last is anyone’s guess . . I reckon maybe 2 hours tops

Really enjoy taking Blue round the Water Park, gives not only her byt me plenty of exercise and works up an appietite in both of us, so afterwards headed into Chorlton for a beer and a sarnie, while Blue had her usual 3 sausages, seems to be her regular meal when we go to Polar Bar now, the Chef there always knows its for Blue and even cuts the sausages up for her.

Girls night

Well the Stretford girls are having another girls night round at Amanda’s, I was invited and did actually attend for about 1/2hr, but soon got bored of the incessant screeching they were making in between drinking cheap lager and doing impersanations, plus Blue was at home all alone and I can’t have my favourite dog sulking.

Anyway its my turn tomorrow night, hopefully going round Chorlton with Liam and maybe Kenny if he’s up for it, will need to give him a bll in the morning me thinks.

On a sad note my car had to go into the garage today to get a few things sorted out on it, these being:

Faulty Drivers side Electric window (Still to be repaired, waiting on parts)

Dodgy fcuked up Air Con unit (Now repaired and making the car warm again)

Inspection Service No 2 (Completed and the car feels alot better)

All this totaled about £480, but well worth it and consideralby cheaper then taking it to a regular BMW garage, so if anyone has an old Beamer in need of repair I can highly recommend BMTEC on Bailey St, just off Deansgate in Manchester.

Its run by an ex BMW mechanic with a few others working for him, definately worth a visit.

Had to borrow the money off my mum to get it repaired though, which also meant I had to sell some of my Kelda shares so I can pay her back, raised about £4k from 400 shares which aint to bad, going to use whats left over to get a new bathroom as ours is on its way out, which is’nt a bad thing as could do with a much deeper bath so I can actually relax when I’m in there, at the moment the bath we’ve got makes me look like I’m sitting in a kitchen sink (not a thought you really wanted I bet) .
